Cutting multiple wooden hexagons and making them all perfectly identical can be a challenge. That’s why I designed a hexagon cutting jig to make batching out hexagons super easy. Not only is the jig accurate, but it’s also adjustable so you can cut hexagons any size, big or small. Cut a hexagon anywhere from 1 to 18 inches in diameter with this adjustable table saw jig!
Looking for a jig that can cut any shape (like pentagon, octagon and hexagon)? Check out these polygon cutting jig plans.
Making this jig for the table saw requires minimal materials. The full list of tools and materials recommended for this build can be found in the project tutorial.
These downloadable plans include 10 pages of detailed information including: dimensions, cut list, 3D assembly diagrams, materials lists, step-by-step instructions, tips and other resources.
The plans are designed to be used in combination with the YouTube video which provides step-by-step instructions.
Jig dimensions: 24″ x 24″
*Measurements in the plans are imperial, not metric.

Super handy jig. One mistake I made, and intially blamed my fence and stop block setup, was to make the first cut, flip for second cut, then on the third cut I was rotating the piece counter-clockwise (looking down on the jig from behind). This was throwing off my hexagons every so slightly. You really need to place the newly cut edge against the fence and stop block, which means rotating your work piece clockwise. After I fixed that in my head, hexagons were dead on.
If you buy a tile as she suggests in the video, make sure it’s actually a proper hexagon. I found a couple examples in the local big box stores that were longer on two edges. It may not have mattered, but I spent time to find one that matched all the way around and that helped.
